Is anything else favorable and ideal for man not to believe in God ?

All that God wants us to do is to obey his commandments and even added a free will ", why is it that there are those who find it more satisfying to be free to do their thing as they please. Our maker wants nothing better than to be obedient to him for our own good. Since he is the maker he naturally desires his creation {liken him to a manufacturer} to enjoy the things that endures and keep it safe from harms way...why then do some of us prefer to be free from rules when every office, every Club, every organization expect their members to live by the rules or be penalized ?
